Ready to grow: Attracting new jobs to Lawrence

With that motivator in mind -- and his first term nearing a close -- Mayor Daniel Rivera held a jobs forum Tuesday to discuss the state of economic development in the city with the leader of one of its biggest economic drivers and community partners, New Balance.

CEO Robert T. DeMartini called the Lawrence labor force "nimble and smart," and said the company is investing in the future of manufacturing, as the nation prepares to inaugurate a president who has promised to bring manufacturing jobs back to America.
