Manufacturers look to the future in the face of change

On Thursday, a group of about 100 educators, government leaders, job training professionals and manufacturing executives whose products range from dental implants to solar panels met at a warehouse in Lawrence's industrial park to brainstorm strategies for attracting Generation Z – those now in high school and college – to careers in manufacturing and to plot the future of hands-on work. The session was hosted by 3Decor, a textile wholesaler.
